January 2025 Joint VFW 4031 Post and Auxiliary Newsletter
Here is the latest Joint VFW Post 4031 Joint Newsletter. This newsletter is designed to increase Post Communications. There are two versions here. The High Resolution version will load slower but will display photos and graphics better. The Low Resolution version is designed to permit those who have slower internet speeds to see the Newsletter without waiting too long. Remember the next newsletter will be published about April 1st. Articles are due March 18th.

Plan on Attending the Vietnam Veterans Dinner
The Annual Vietnam Veterans Dinner will be held on Vietnam Veterans Day, March 29th, 2025. Doors will open at 4:00PM and the Dinner will start at 5:00PM. This dinner is held in conjunction with the 50th Commemoration of the Vietnam War. The Dinner is open to all Veterans, and any Durango Community Members who wish to join in. The Dinner is free to all comers and is supported by your generous donations. Please plan on attending and make our Dinner special this year. Annual Veterans Train Ride.
The Annual Iron Horse Bicycle Class will be held May 24th, 2025. The Iron Horse Classic also includes a Veterans Train Ride Sponsored by The Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. VFW Post 4031 Has a New Food Truck
We are proud to announce that the Post has a new Food Truck. We welcome Uncle’s Fixins to the Post. They offer loaded baked potatoes, soups, and wonderful drinks. VFW Post 4031 has added a Suggestion Box to our website. We welcome your suggestions on how to improve your Post. You can find the suggestion box on the News top menu and then scroll down. Veterans Benefit BreakfastThe Veterans Benefit Breakfast is one of the most important events that VFW Post 4031 undertakes. The proceeds from these breakfasts directly support veterans in need. The next Veterans Benefit Breakfast will be held on Sunday April 6th starting at 9:00 AM and ending at 11:00 AM. Great food and the public is welcome. The next Veterans Relief Committee Monthly Meeting will be held on Monday April 7th at 5:30 PM.
Veterans Relief Committee NewsThe Veterans Relief Committee has disbursed more than $20,000.00 in 2022 and more than $2,500.00 in 2023 to help needy La Plata County veterans. For more information about Veterans Relief click here.

Events/Public Relations Committee
The next Events/ Public Relations Committee Monthly Meeting will be held April 14th at 1:00PM. The Events/PRC meeting will normally be held on the 2nd Monday of each month at 1:00PM.
Public Relations Committee NewsThe PRC is planning a number of events in the coming months including the Vietnam Veterans Dinner on March 29th, a continuous Red Shirt Friday Shirt sale, and publishing a Joint Post and Auxiliary Newsletter approximately April 1st, 2025 (time flies!).
