As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we, at VFW Post 4031, want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks and become part of our elite group.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Vietnam, Korea, Kosovo, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace. We are dedicated to support of our most important National Asset.... our veterans. Please join us and contribute to our efforts to support our local veterans and their families.

The website has added four new pages to the News Section. Both the Post's Facebook and Instagram pages are now accessible from the News section as well as the links on the Home Page. A third page called VFW Action Corps describes an opportunity for community members, who are not eligible for membership in the VFW or the VFW Auxiliary, to assist the VFW achieve its goals. The fourth page is called #Still Serving and allows you to read about what other VFW posts are doing, as well as, the stories that individual VFW members have about their involvement in the VFW. The website has also added a new page to the About section called VFW Staff Members.This page has photos and bios of the Post Staff that makes our Post function. We are always thankful for the contributions that our staff member make to our mission.

     Veterans Benefit Breakfast
The next Veteran's Benefit Breakfast will be held on February 6th between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM.  Non-Veterans $8.00 and Veterans $7.00. Great food and the public is welcome. Here is the link to the flier on the breakfast.

Learning about a company is important, because good history shows consistency to a local community such as ours here in Durango, CO. Here is a short snippet of our story.

Sun Glass was founded in Farmington, NM by N.L. Garrett Sr. in 1952. The business was then purchased by Cliff Freeman and James Newlun in 1999. Then in the fall of 2008 Cliff Freeman (father) and Clint Freeman (son) purchased James Newlun’s shares of the business making it a true family owned and operated business.

The business has enjoyed a great, long-term relationship with Durango and the surrounding area. As the community has grown, Sun Glass Durango has also grown to be the largest glass shop in the Four Corners Region.
